Garlic has a compound called allicin which has been shown to combat viruses, bacterial and fungus. One caveat with garlic- make sure you crush or finely chop it and let it sit exposed to air for about 10 minutes before cooking to help the allicin develop fully. Keep bulbs of garlic on hand and add some to just about anything you eat from veggies to soups to salad dressings.
