After having back surgery in 2012, my surgeon told me that I wouldn't really deadlift again.
That wasn't acceptable to me. My friend had taken Marie's core class, and since I was told that I did need to strengthen my core to support my back, I reached out for some personal training. We focused on core, but overall strength training as well. With Marie watching my form carefully, we started working through light deadlifts and continued to build strength.
I've been with Marie twice a week ever since. I have yet to have an easy workout -- Marie always finds new ways to challenge me and keep my muscles guessing! Even through a foot fracture, appendicitis, and a few other minor injuries along the way, I never hesitate to see Marie because I know she can tailor a workout for me.
Recently we discovered that I have a gluten allergy. It took way more patience than I have to play with my diet and figure out what was going on, but since we did, I have lost 30 pounds. Shedding those 30 pounds has allowed us to ramp up my workouts even more.
